How large is Sioux Falls? Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota with a population of 150,000. Sioux Falls is located at the intersection of I-90 and I-29.
What is the weather in Sioux Falls like? August in Sioux Falls is usually warm and dry, evenings could be cooler. Occasional thunderstorms may move quickly through the area.

.What Ball will you be using? The ball we will be using is the leather Worth Red Dot Hot Seam optic yellow ball. If you would like to practice with a ball prior to the tournament they will be available through our online store.
Will there be practice facilities? There are numerous public practice facilities. Facilities close to Sherman Park are: Dunham Park, McCart Park, Elmwood Park, Cherry Rock Park, Frank Olson Park, and Kenny Anderson Park.
What is the structure of the tournament? Teams will play 2 pool games feeding into a double elimination tournament as per ASA code article 511.
Will the tournament be longer than in previous years? The tournament is scheduled to end on Sunday, August 2th. Pool play will start on Monday July 27. Bracket play will begin following pool play, pool games will be used for seeding the bracket.
Where do I get the official tournament entry form? The official entry form can be obtained from the commissioner of the Region you qualified in.
Travel:
Does Sioux Falls have an airport? Sioux Falls has a modern airport. Though serviced by multiple carriers, NWA, Northwest Airlines(Delta), has the most flights in and out of Sioux Falls.
What is the best route to drive to Sioux Falls? Sioux Falls is easy to drive to, located at the intersection of two interstates (I-29 & I-90). There are good roads to get here.
Can I rent a car? Most of the rental car agencies are located at the airport and we will suggest to them to have more vans on hand.
Activities:
Will there be things for the family to do when we're not watching softball? Sioux Falls has numerous activities: water parks, shopping, and other attractions. .
What to pack?:
Will I need warm clothing? The weather in August is generally warm to hot, so you probably can get by with a light jacket or sweatshirt.
Online Store:
What will I be able to purchase at the online store? We plan to have official souvenirs, local items, and passes available.
The Complex:
Is the complex close to my motel? Because Sioux Falls is ringed in Interstates, all of the motels are an easy drive to the complex. There are also practice fields close to most of the motels.
What is the infield surface? The infield surface is agri-lime, it is a material brought in from quarries in Minnesota. This gives the ball a true bounce and holds up well under heavy play. It is very suitable for play during rainy weather, it holds water well and also dries rapidly after heavy rain. It is somewhat abrasive so base runners must wear some sort of sliding protection.
Misc.
How far is Mount Rushmore? Unfortunately, Mount Rushmore is quite a drive, approximately 390 miles. In previous years, many of the teams drove out to visit the Black Hills after the Tournament.
